Your Canal Boat

If you’ve never experienced life on a canal boat before or haven’t been our guest before, you might be wondering what our boats are like.

We work hard during the day to ensure that your boat is clean and tidy on arrival.

Your canal boat is approximately 6’10 wide externally and the internal dimensions are slightly narrower (allowing for cabin steel thickness, insulation and wood panels). The boats are equipped with a gas cooker, electric refrigerator, electric lighting, a shower and gas fired central heating or diesel central heating on Bridgewater Hall and Ruby Tuesday.

Your canal boat also features a CD player and radio (many of our boats have MP3 playback from CD, SD Card and USB and an iPod input), LCD TV’s with built-in Freeview and a 12v cigar lighter socket for charging mobile phones, camcorders and digital cameras. A number of our boats feature 220v 3-pin sockets and a small inverter is supplied on the rest.

The boats in our fleet have comfortable upholstery with foam cushioning. Inner sprung mattresses feature on the fitted doubles on Moore Hall, Valle Crucis Abbey and on the beds in Bridgewater Hall and Norton Priory.

Our canal boats come fully equipped with fresh linen and bedding, a full range of kitchen utensils and essential boat equipment such as mooring stakes, ropes, boat hook and of course windlasses for working the locks. Every boat in our canal fleet is fitted with safety equipment including a fire extinguisher and fire blanket, floatation ring and a first aid box. For children and those nervous around water we can supply a life jacket.

All of our holiday prices include fuel, gas and insurance and there are no other charges to pay.
